The Dimensions of Consciousness

The Grand Unified Field Theory of quantum mechanics suggests that reality consists of eleven dimensions. But what are the philosophical implications of a multidimensional universe? One of string theory's founders now suggests that the "ground of all being" - the most basic substance from which everything else is derived - is CONSCIOUSNESS! This represents a paradigm shift for materialsts who insist that consciousness is a property of matter and NOT the other way round!

I originally trained as a mining surveyor in the UK coal industry so I consider myself to be quite practical.

I also have a masters degree in mathematics: operational research which (amongst other things) is about creating mathematical models of real world systems. I'm therefore quite analytical.

I am also a qualified teacher of the Alexander Technique. That gives me great sensitivity to the human condition.

I have been researching the nature of consciousness since 1988 and as a result I have become quite spiritual, although I don't subscribe to any particular religion.

I think I can fairly say I'm a bit of an all-rounder.
